Vijay’s fights

Vettaikaran, the Vijay starrer is moving ahead with rapid momentum. Following the canning of a stunt sequence a couple of days back in Alwarpet and adjacent areas, the unit has moved to AVM studios where an action scene involving Ilaya Thalapathy was picturised today along with stunt artists. Kanal Kannan, the renowned stunt master is choreographing fight sequences in Vettaikaran and if industry sources are to be believed, he has worked over time to plan to sequences in a unique and different way.

Film buffs may already be aware that Vettaikaran is Vijay’s 49th film which is being directed by Babu Sivan, a former associate of director Dharani. Arundhathee Anushka will be scorching the screens with Vijay this time in this AVM banner film. Stay tuned to this site for updates on Vettaikaran and other industry news.

Vettaikaran Movie first schedule over

The first schedule of  Vijay’s upcoming Vettaikaran is over at Rajahmundry in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The grapevine is abuzz that Vijay is spotting a new look for the film, which will not be revealed immediately.

The film produced by A V M Balasubramaniam and directed by Babu Shivam, has Anushka as heroine. The buzz is that the film is an action packed family entertainer laced with comedy and sentiment.

As per sources in the unit, the hero introduction song was picturised in which Vijay’s son Sanjay has danced with his dad against an Ayyanar temple background. Then hero meeting heroine for the first time in a very comic manner was shot in a Railway Station. Added to that some talkie portions were also canned in and around Rajahmundry.

The second schedule of the film is to start in Chennai in the second week of April, and it will be shot mostly at AVM studio including a set song. Vijay Antony is composing the second song likely to be a duet.

Vettaikaran’s new entrant

The Anushka–Vijay starrer Vettaikaran, whichstarted in the first week of March 2009, has a latest entrant. Late director Jeeva’s erstwhile assistant Srinath will don the role of a comedian in the flick. Srinath is, however, not new to comedy roles as such. He has already been featured in almost all of Jeeva’s movies, prominent ones including Dham Dhoom and Unnale Unnale. Srinath is currently directing Muthirai, which features Nithin Sathya, Daniel Balaji and Laksmi Rai.

Vettaikaran, on the other hand, is constantly in the news as one can see. The movie was recently in news with Vijay’s son making a fleeting cameo appearance in the title song.

Vijay’s other heroine

Sources from the Vettaikaran unit had mentioned that the movie would have a second heroine in addition to Anushka. We do not know the details of the role if it will be as important as Anushka’s or not. The actress for this role had not been finalized until now, even after the movie got well into its second schedule of shooting. Now, there are reports that Madalasa, a new face may get the opportunity to star opposite Vijay. The lady is currently acting in her first film titled Kadhalukku Maranam Illai produced by K.T. Kunjumon along with Meera Nandan from Kerala. Talks are on with Madalasa but nothing has been finalized yet. If this opportunity materializes, it would be great for the actress’ fledgling career because new faces rarely get opportunities to star opposite top stars of Kollywood.

Villu audio for December 15

What would be the impact if Pokkiri hits his target perfectly with Villu? The Vijay-Prabudeva combination created a storm with their mega blockbuster ‘Pokkiri’ in 2007 for Pongal, and now they are ready to create their next, and possibly even bigger storm, with their forthcoming release ‘VILLU’ which is also produced by Ayngaran international which has stepped into Tamil film production full time with some of the recently released Tamil films. The film stars the current numero uno, Nayanthara along with Vadivelu, Prakashraj, Sreeman and others.

The audio of Villu has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who also composed the music for Vijay’s “Sachein” apart from a single song in Vijay’s blockbuster “Thirupachi”. The audio is predicted to be a rocker (AS USUAL!!!) with Vijay’s popular kuthu numbers and some really stylish songs that are sure to rock the dance floors. The audio has been slated to release on the 15th of December much to the delight of Vijay’s huge network of fans. Those who have listened to bits and parts of the songs have been raving about it so far, and very rarely does a Vijay album not find favor among the fans and the listeners alike.

VFN team wishes Villu audio to be a grand success. The Vijay-Prabudeva combination is the new hotshot combination of Kollywood and we hope the success of the combination continues its golden run at the silver screen in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay’s bodyguard – only on success

Vijay’s bodyguard – only on success
November 22, 2008
There seems to be a slight change in Vijay’s plans for his 50th movie. As reported by us earlier, his 50th movie would be produced by S.A. Chandrasekhar for Vijay’s home banner and directed by the Malayalam director Siddique. It was also learnt that the movie will be a remake of the Malayalam movie Bodyguard, now
under production directed by Siddique.

However, since Bodyguard is only under production Vijay seems to be a bit apprehensive about its effectiveness to be remade into Tamil. Vijay’s apprehension is addressed to Siddique and, as it seems, it is decided that Bodyguard would be made in Tamil only if the movie is proving to be a success in Malayalam. If not, Siddique will create an exclusive script for Vijay.

Vijay – “Villu is shaping up well”

Dear Behindwoods Team,

I am an ardent visitor of BW. I personally feel anything published on your site will reach millions of hearts. Recently IlayaThalapathy Vijay came to Tuticorin for shooting of his movie Villu. He was put up in Satya Resorts and no banners were kept in order to reduce the crowd during shooting time.

But still a huge crowd came to watch Vijay, and shooting didn’t take place for 2 days. A chase scene was planned to take in Tiruchendur Bye-pass road and a song sequence in Manapaadu, a seashore area. I took much pains to meet Vijay, but I couldn’t meet him.

On a fine day morning when we went to Satya resorts, we saw Vijay walking out of his room as usual in his casual looking wear. The gardeners who were working there felt happy on seeing him. He smiled, waved hands and wished them. You could see the smiling faces of those gardeners in the photo also. And when we went near him, the time was almost 9 and it was late for shooting. But yet he took 2 photos with us patiently and said “Villu is shaping up so good. Do watch it with family”, and as usual bid us good bye with his trade mark smile.

While taking the photo, I was just standing at a distance, but Vijay came close and put his hands over my shoulder- just like my close pal and took it. No words to describe his humbleness.

I’ll keep on updating the shoot from Pearl city.
