Storyline of Vijay-Dharani’s Kuruvi

 

Vijay-Dharani combo, who gave a super hit movie Ghilli, are back together once again for Kuruvi, Usually Kuruvi or Pura is used as a code word for illegal immigrants. As the title of the movie indicates, its storyline revolves around a youth who lands in Singapore without proper documents and to add to his woes the police also find that he has smuggled goods in his possession. The hero’s search for the villains forms the rest of the story.

Kuruvi will also be a fast paced movie just like Ghilli has been, reliable sources say. This project is being produced by Udhayanidhi, grandson of Chief Minister Karunanidhi. With Vidya Sagar scoring the music let’s hope that he gives us another smashing hit like “Appadi Podu”.

Ghilli, starring Vijay and Trisha, directed by Dharani is the memorable story of success. With Ghilli, Vijay’s career graph soared high and still remains there.

Now Dharani is directing Vijay-Trisha in Kuruvi, a Vidyasagar musical.

Kuruvi is produced by Udayanidhi, grandson of Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi. 

Though storyline and the cast of Kuruvi is not yet revealed, the fact that it will be a thorough entertainer remains assured.

Vijay’s noble act

Vijay is contemplating to start a charitable trust in the name of his sister.

The sought-after actor in Tamil cinema is planning to render social service through the trust.

Sources close to Vijay say that he is planning to help poor children to continue their studies.

He will select the deserving children and sponsor them for their education till their graduation.

Kuruvi – the combo of Ghilli

One of the most unforgettable movies in Vijay’s career “GHILLI” was directed by Dharani who has a reputation of directing movies with jet speed screenplays. This combination has firmly engraved itself in the minds of the fans and the viewers with the blockbuster success of ‘Ghilli. Now the combination is back. We had earlier confirmed the news of the film being discussed between Vijay, Dharani and the respective people. We now bring you exclusive news about the film that is expected to be another glittering success of Vijay’s illustrous career.

The movie has been titled ‘Kuruvi’ directed by Dharani with Vijay as the lead actor. Trisha will be the lead actress opposite Vijay in this film. She was also a part of the ‘Ghilli’ team and her presence as the heroine squashes recent rumors of Asin replacing Trisha in this project. The entire cast and crew details for this movie are expected to be announced soon in an official press release. This movie will be produced by Udayanidhi, grandson of the current Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi with music by Dharani’s favorite Vidyasagar (Dhill, Dhool, Ghilli). The whole industry and the fans are expecting Vidyasagar to give another ‘Appadi Podu’, a song that smashed many records and is still in the lips of Tamil music lovers.

Ghilli marked the beginning of the glorious run in Vijay’s career and the glorious run has been continuing till today. We hope that ‘Kuruvi’ will push Vijay’s career graph to an altogether different height. Three cheers for Vijay

The triple action mania has gripped Kollywood tight it seems. The latest to join the list after Ajith, Vadivelu and Vivek is Vijay, who would apparently act in three different roles in a movie to be directed by Gautam Vasudeva Menon.

Sources say that though Gautam is busy with Varanam Aayiram and the untitled film in which Trisha is acting in the lead, he is also preparing himself for the mega movie, in which he would join hands with Vijay for the first time.

`The movie would be an action thriller and Vijay would act as a police officer after Pokkiri’, say sources close to the director.

Vijay gets Doctorate

‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay has been conferred a Doctorate by the Chancellor, the Board of Management and the Academic Council of Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute (Dr. M.G.R University).Vijay will be conferred with the Degree of at the ensuing convocation of M.G.R University to be held on 27th August 2007. The noted scientist Padmabushan Dr. Madhavan Nair, Chairman, ISRO will be the Chief Guest at the function.

This recognition by M.G.R. University and their Board of Management is to honour Vijay’s spectacular achievement in the movie industry and rising to glorious heights at such a young age.

The University also strongly feels that Vijay has contributed immensely to the cause of the poor and downtrodden through social welfare activities with support from his beloved fans.

In an quick chat to Moviebuzz, the youngest actor in the world ever to be conferred with a Doctorate speaks:

What did you feel when you first heard the news?
(Laughs) I thought that someone was pulling a fast one on me and told the person to stop joking. Later when the news was confirmed, I felt extremely touched and happy.

Why did you feel that someone was joking?
See first and foremost, I don’t feel that I have done something great to get a doctorate. What ever little social work and help that I have done to the needy and my fellowmen was out of my sincere passion to help them. And all this getting noticed by the board and conferring a doctorate on me brings joy and great happiness.

And when is the function going to be?
It will be conferred to me on Monday, August 27. And I am very happy and thrilled that Dr Madhavan Nair one of the finest scientists in India will be the chief guest.

ATM faces the last minute obstacle

There is an old adage which says, “Man proposes but God disposes”. This seems to have come true in the case of Vijay starrer Azhagiya Tamil Magan which is nearing completion. An impressive set has been erected in Hyderabad to can the shots. A massive railway station is created and the film unit with more than two hundred junior artists is stationed at the Andhra capital to shoot the sequence.
  
Shooting was progressing steadily when monsoon played spoilt sport and the shooting had to be shelved temporarily. It has been reported that the crew is waiting for the showers to take a break so that they can resume their work. ATM is set to be a Diwali Dhamaka for Vijay fans.

Trisha Dropped from Vijay’s next

Vijay after ATM was all set to join hands with the hit director Dharani. The two of them was last seen together for the blockbuster Gillie and the new film will be produced by Udayanidhi, grandson of Karunanidhi. Trisha was scheduled to be the heroine and Vidya Sagar is in charge of the tunes. Everything went as planned and the team was gung ho about the project, which was supposed to start from this year end.

However due to reasons unknown, Trisha is no more a part of this project. Dharani wanted her to be cast in the film and so did the producer who had even given her the advance. But insiders claim that the movie will be devoid of Trisha’s presence and talks are currently on to rope in Asin who is said to have accepted the offer too. Trisha’s loss is Asin’s gain, a major gain at that.

Don’t expect too much”, says Vijay of ATM

 

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s fans are eagerly awaiting their icons’ next release Azhagiya Thamizh Magan where he will be romancing two of the hottest Kollywood heroines viz. Namitha and Shriya. A song was recently shot at Phuket beach where for the first time Vijay has reportedly shown off his torso like Salman Khan of Hindi films. Music for this peppy number shot at Thailand beach has been scored by A R Rahman.
 
The story of the film is said to revolve around extra sensory perception of the hero and has already evinced a lot of interest among Vijay fans. ATM is being directed by Bharathan who had apprenticed under Dharani. When quizzed about the film’s expectations, Vijay asks his fans not to expect too much but at the same time guarantees for the entertainment segment.
