Vijay celebrates B-day with quiet dignity

Vijay is a happy man celebrating his birthday with his family and fans Friday. The actor had recently returned from a hectic shooting for Azhagiya Tamil Magan.

Vijay says, ‘I am hopeful that Azhagiya Tamil Magan would also go on to become a blockbuster. It features me in a different role. There is scope for action and humor in the movie. Director Bharathan has done a commendable job in the movie”.

Azhagiya Tamil Magan features Shriya opposite Vijay.

Vijay says, “I thank my fans for making Pokiri a big hit. In typical lines, I vouch that Azhagiya Tamil Magan too would be entertaining for my fans”.

Asked about his forthcoming film for Udhayanidhi, Vijay said, “The movie would commence after I complete Azhagiya Tamil Magan. After a brief interval I am joining hands with director Dharani. We are confident of recreating the Gilli magic”.

Suspense by Vijay

Usually during summer, Vijay will fly to his in-law house at London. But this time he could go because of 3 months of continuous shooting of Alagiya Tamil Magan. He will be flying to London in few days of time. Vijay said “I’ll be holiday at London for 3 weeks. Since working continously on ATM for 3 months, odambu makkar pannuthu. Athai sari panne piragu Chennai-ku varuven.” 

Vijay is in full confidence with Alagiya Tamil Magan.  “You’ll always asking me to do something different right? I have done something diffrent in this movie. But dont start to ask the details on it. When you watch the movie, you’ll see what is the different Vijay have done” Speaks Vijay with full of suspense.

Don’t come to Chennai for my birthday – Vijay

Vijay’s birthday falls on June 22. Usually, the Vadapalani area is all festive on that day, but it may not be so this year. Vijay has made an announcement to fans not to come to Chennai for his birthday.

Vijay is busy shooting for ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan’ and hence cannot be in Chennai on his birthday. So, he requested his fans not to make a wasted trip to Chennai.

Vijay’s birthday message to his fans is to help the poor. “Hard work bears fruit. My hard work is the reason for my success. So, all of you please work hard.” Apart from this advice, he requests fans to take good care of their parents as parents are like gods.

Even if Vijay is not in Chennai, the birthday celebrations will go on. Vijay was born in Egmore Govt Hospital. So, babies born from 22nd night to 12 noon the next day will be gifted gold finger rings. Fans will donate blood at Vijay’s Shoba Kalyana Mandapam. There will be an eye camp and free eye treatment. Orphans will get free mid day meal and poor children will be given books and note books.

 

For Vijay’s birthday, a private TV channel will present a special program. Vijay will also participate in it. That channel is doing a program on Vijay only apart from Rajini.

Vijay’s birthday celebrations

Apart from the usual birthday celebrations of Vijay fan clubs, the Ilayathalapathy’s birthday this year on June 22, 2007 is planned to be celebrated in a grandeur manner by Vijay TV. As part of the birthday bash, Vijay TV has planned for a publicity vehicle adorned with life size cutouts of the star, performances of look-alikes and celebrity visits.

The vehicle – titled Vijay Rasigan Express – will travel across some of the major cities such as Chennai, Pondicherry, Trichy, and Coimbatore between June 14 and June 22, 2007. Besides, the channel is also organizing a host of programs to celebrate the star’s birthday ranging from SMS trivia contest to the name contest where a fan whose name or part of it is Vijay can grab prizes. That apart, numerous contests were planned and merchandises and goodies will be distributed to the fans. To add to the excitement, fans will be allowed to take snaps with the life size cutouts of the actor.

Plans include a signature campaign on a 1000 mt canvas wherein fellow stars sign wishing Vijay a happy birthday. Vijay TV plans to air the special program ‘Vijay Rasigan Express’ from June 14 at 10 p.m.

Pokkiri’s 200 days gala function

The 200 days celebration of Vijay-Asin starrer Pokkiri is to be held in July. The success of the Ilai Thalapathy movie will be presided by the Dalapathy himself, Superstar Rajinikanth. The remake of the Telugu film of the same name starring Mahesh Babu was directed by choreographer turned hit director Prabhu Deva.

Vijay watches Sivaji in Hyderabad

Vijay was expected to be with us on Vijay TV’s Rasigan Express, but Vijay was out of Chennai for shoot of Azhagiya Tamil Magan, at present Vijay is in Hyderabad along with ATM team to shoot dance sequence, even though Vijay was occupied he never failed to see the Super star Rajnikanth’s Sivaji in theater.

After completing the shoot, Vijay escaped from the team and watched Sivaji in Hyderabad, along with his close associates. After watching the film the actor called upon Rajnikanth to convey his wishes, and asked him for beauty tips. On 20th June Vijay is likely to come back to Chennai, to celebrate his birthday with his beloved fans.

Vijay conducts secret meeting

This meeting took place 10 days back. It was a usual one, but those who took part in it, vouch that it will be good for his career.

 

The whole year, Vijay gifts books and notebooks to poor children. This year also, the meeting was held at Vijay’s Shoba Kalyana mandapam to hand over the books and notebooks to the fans of different places.

After that, Vijay held a meeting with executives of his different fan clubs. It is understood that some of the executives tried to cajole Vijay into entering politics, and that they were eagerly waiting for him to make his political debut.

Vijay is always slow and measured in taking his decisions, so he first calmed down his fan club executives, saying no politics for the time being, but to start fan clubs in all places. He also asked them to inform him about functions for starting new clubs or any other connected function.

His fans were very happy when he said that he would definitely participate in the functions if he could. So, they kept quiet for the time being about his not getting involved in politics. But they feel starting of fan clubs in various places and readiness to meet his fans could augur his entry into politics at a later date.

Empire strikes back!

  All these days, media was full of stories of how the yet to be launched Kalaingnar TV purchased the satellite rights of all latest films including Rajnikanth’s Sivaji and the super hit of the year Mozhi.

Sun TV, the market leaders with the best Tamil film library in the world was keeping an extremely low profile, due to certain recent political happenings in the state. Now the latest we hear is that they have snapped up the television rights of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s mega hit of the year Pokiri and has also bagged his next release Azhagiya Tamizh Mahan which is under production!

It is not only the biggies but small films like Karan’s Karuppusamy Kuthagaitharar, and films under production like Bharath’s Nepali and Palani too has been snapped up by Sun. All this has triggered off the biggest ever Tamil films satellite rights boom, as some individual players with deep pockets have also entered the race.

Ameer to join with Vijay

After completing “Raam” director Ameer interested to direct a film with Vijay. But when ParutiVeeran get confirmed he select Karthi as hero. Now he is directing Jeyam Ravi and planned to direct Vikram or Vijay in his forthcoming. But it will only commence on next year. If its be Vikram, then Ameer said to be produce the film by himself. But in other hand, the producer of Bheema is planning to bring togather Vijay and Ameer in thier next project.
