Vijay and Shreya is acting in Alagiya Tamil Magan which directing by Barathan. The shooting took place in Chennai, Karaikudi and Pollachi. Now the shooting is taking place in a cement factory at Elloore.
Pepsi Vijayan is the stunt master. Balasubramanian is the cameraman. A fight scene involving Guru (Vijay) clashing with Prasanth (Vijay) is being filmed.

Since it is a dual role, Pepsi Vijayan very careful in giving trainings. Cameraman using latest technology to film the scenes. The crew said its going to be a bonus on top of bonus for Vijay’s fans to see two Vijays’ clashing on screen.

Lawrence to direct Vijay in new film

Vijay is a dab hand at zeroing in on commercial masala films that will surely be a hit.

Starting off as a dancer, Lawrence has progressed to choreographer, actor and director. Now, all that he touches, seem to turn to gold.

His Telugu film ‘Style’ and Tamil film ‘Muni’ were super hits as predicted. If such a lucky director collaborates with Vijay, it would be nice and that’s exactly what is going to happen.

Lawrence is right now directing ‘Don’ remake in Telugu featuring Nagarjuna. He also appears in an important role in the film. Hearing positive reports about the story, Vijay has got in touch with Lawrence and the outcome is that, the Tamil remake of ‘Don’ is to happen.

Once Lawrence completes the Telugu version of ‘Don,’ and Vijay completes ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan,’ work on the ‘Don’ Tamil remake should start.

Vijay, Gowtham to team up

After completing his Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Vijay would team up with Dharani. The two had earlier teamed up for a blockbuster Gilli, a remake of a Telugu hit. But this time, it would be direct Tamil film and Dharani has completed penning the story and screenplay. Trisha is touted to play the heroine. Upon completing Azhagiya Tamil Magan, Vijay would commence shooting for the movie. Also by the year-end, Vijay has accepted to work with director Gowtham Menon. If Dharani’s venture is a racy entertainer, Vijay’s film for Gowtham Vasudeva Menon is expected to be a thriller, quite expected of Gowtham Menon. The movie would be produced by London Karunas.         Actor Vijay has rendered a song for Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Though he has several numbers to his credit, it is the first time Vijay has recorded a song set to tunes by A R Rahman.

        The movie featuring Vijay in dual roles is directed by Bharathan. Shriya is paired opposite him. Rahman has also lend his voice in the album.

Azhagiya Tamil Magan, a commercial entertainer, is fast shaping up for a release this Independence Day.  A major portion of the movie is already completed.

Vijay & Prabhu Deva: A new bonding

Pokkiri, which was released this January, is still running successfully. Now Prabhu Deva and Vijay have developed a strong bondage between them. Vijay has personally requested Prabhu Deva to choreograph a song sequence for Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Azhagiya Thamizh Magan progressing at good pace

For Vijay’s fans, Pokkiri has only increased their apetite. They are seriously craving for more now from their favorite hero. Pokkiri has turned out to be a huge blockbuster, and now all eyes are on Vijay’s Azhagiya Thamizh Magan which is expected to give an entirely new dimension to Vijay and his set of fans.

The shoot of the movie has been going on at a very brisk pace. The team had recently gone to Hyderabad to complete their shooting in the city where some action sequences and a few family sequences were shot. The team has now returned to Chennai where they will be continuing with the shooting. 3 songs have been shot so far.

Azhagiya Thamizh Magan’s highlight is going to be the combination of the current Musical Maestro ‘AR Rahman’ and Ilayathalapathy Vijay. This combination has not had proper exposure at all. Udhaya was delayed heavily, and by the time it released, it was a dampener. It is said that Rahman is putting up quite some effort to make sure that he satisfies both the fans of Vijay and fan’s of his own music (he has a huge fan following all over the world). Vijay is said to be very happy with the way the songs are shaping up. Special mention must be made of the opening song, for which Rahman is said to be coming up with a peppy and exciting folk type song that is sure to be a big hit with the fans of Ilayathalapathy. Also, lyricist Vaali is said to be re-doing the song “Azhagiya Thamizh Magal Ival” from the old movie “Richshawkaaran” and will be writing the lyrics to a fresh tune composed by AR Rahman.

The film’s shooting has been going as per schedule, and is said to be completed by the end of June. The film is expected to be released in the month of August. This sounds to be a movie that not only Vijay’s fans, but the other audience will also be waiting eagerly in anticipation.

May 19, 2007 Azhagiya Thamizh Magan is Vijay’s 45th film, directed by Bharathan. This movie is creating great expectations as Vijay and A.R. Rahman are joining hands. Vijay meets Kamal

Kamal Haasan’s Dasavatharam has been drawing a lot of curiosity not just among film-buffs but among the industry men too. Directed by K S Ravikumar, the movie features Kamal Haasan in ten different make-ups. Rajinikanth, who was shooting for Sivaji at AVM Studios last month, went to the sets of Dasavatharam and made anxious enquiries about the movie. Now it is the turn of Vijay. The sought-after star of commercial cinema, Vijay visited the sets of Dasavatharam recently and called on Kamal Haasan. He made queries about the different roles being performed by Kamal Haasan. Vijay who is sharing the screen with Shriya for Azhagiya Tamil Magan is heaping laurels on her. Vijay says, “I have seen her Telugu movies before and her dance movements amazed me. Pokkiri and others create havoc in the near by state

In Kerala, Tamil films attract a huge fan base and have been quite high on the collection front too. The recently released Vijay starrer ‘Pokkiri’ has crossed the hundred day mark and other Tamil films are also doing good business there. This seemed to have made a dent in the collection of Malayalam films.

Hence film actors, producers, technical members from the Malayalam film industry have approached the Minister for cultural affairs Mr. M.A.Baby and have put forth their demands.

According to these pleas, the Mollywood fraternity wants the entertainment taxes to be reduced for Malayalam films and increased for Tamil, Hindi and English films. They have also requested the minister to reduce the tariff for shooting at public places. The minister had listened to their pleas and assured them that he will do the needful.

This will be the second similar situation as in the previous year Telugu faced the same problem as dubbed films like Chandramukhi, Anniyan, Gajini, Sandakozhi and Thimiru were major money spinners.
