Namitha with Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan

Namitha’s desire to act opposite Vijay is now fulfilled. The buxom actress will act opposite Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan.  The movie to be produced by Swarga Chitra Films Appachan would have Vijay and Shreya in the lead roles. Namitha would play the second fiddle in the movie.

It may be recalled that Namitha had expressed her desire to act with Vijay in a few interviews before.  Her dream will be fulfilled in the coming months when Azhagiya Thamizh Magan would go to floors.  A major highlight of the movie is the musical score by A R Rahman.

Namitha, who made a name for herself doing glamour roles, is expected to do a similar role in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan.  Also, she has been signed to act in a Malayalam movie.

Who is Vijay’s next director?

Vijay is just completing Pokiri and is all set to start his next film Azhagiya Tamil Makan (ATM) by mid-December for producer Swargachitra Appachan.
Now the big question is after ATM, what next? Perarasu narrated a one-line story to Vijay, which the actor found to be deadly. He is said to have told people close to him that it may give him a new image.

Perarasu and Vijay have been signed more than a year back by London Karuna better known as Ayyankaran, the DVD king of Tamil cinema. They want to start the film in April and Perarasu says that Vijay has given him the green signal to go ahead.

Meanwhile Dharani has been writing a script for Vijay for producer AVM Balasubramaniam and his son Gurunath. Dharani says that Vijay will be doing his film in April after he completes ATM! Dharani also said that Vijay is “Kicked about” the script.

Will our Ilayathaapathy please clarify, whether he is going to do Perarasu or Dharani film? Well those close to him say he will take a call only after the release of Pokiri!

Vijay sings for Rahaman

 

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay has many a bright feathers in his cap. All along he had entertained his fans through his lively acting and dancing. Singing is also one of his passions which he is not following stringently these days. In fact singing runs in his blood. S N Surendar, his maternal uncle is a trained vocalist and his voice rendered a new dimension for actor Mohan in his hay days.
 
Vijay’s mom Shobha also has released musical albums and has even given a full fledged concert. Hence it does not come as a surprise if Vijay sings. But of late he has not been exercising his vocal chords especially after ‘Baby Baby’ in Kaadalukku Mariyadai. But much to his fan’s delight, Vijay is singing a number for his upcoming film Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Readers may be aware that A R Rahaman is scoring music for his film after a long hiatus.

Vijay at Nenjirukkum Varai Audio Launch

The audio launch of Nenjirukkum Varai, starring Narain and Deepika, directed by SA Chandrasekaran after a long time, was launched among a big host of celebrities at the Green Park hotel, Vadapalani Chennai.

The function started at 6pm. All the guests arrived in time for the function. The chief guests for the function were Vijay, Suriya, Sneha, Shreya, Trisha, Dharani, Sreeman, Nasseer, Kalaipuli Dhanu, AVM Balasubramanian and others. Vijay’s wife Sangeetha lit the Kuthuvilakku and started off the function. The preview of the songs and the trailer of the film were shown to the audience.

The audio was then officially launched. Vijay and Surya released the first copy of the audio cassettes and CD’s. Then came the turn for the VIP’s to deliver their speeches. Director SA Chandrasekaran spoke about the movie “I normally finish my movies in 50 days. I complete my movies fast. But this film’s shooting went on for 70 days and more. That was when I realized that a good film will go on for more time. In my career if I have to select one movie as my lifetime movie, then I will select Nenjirukkum Varai as my lifetime movie”.

Suriya spoke “I usually call SAC sir as uncle. Uncle always finishes his films very fast. But for this film, he took more time than he normally used to. But now after seeing the result, the time taken for the movie is totally justified. I wish uncle a very big success for this movie.

Vijay came to speak about the movie “I am very happy to see this function and to see people praise my father on the stage. I am very proud to be attending this function and wish all concerned for the movie to be a big success”.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Rasigar mandram greeted all the technicians of the Nenjirukkum Varai team with a shawl and a flower garland. To end odd, actor Sreeman gave the vote of thanks and thereby concluded the function.

Pokkiri – Song shoot at MGR Film City

Can there be a Vijay’s film without any expectations? Yes, we are talking about Vijay’s upcoming release “Pokkiri’ directed by super dancer ace choreographer and the recently turned successful director “Prabudeva”. The film, also starring Asin, Prakash Raj, ‘Vaigai Puyal’ Vadivelu, Nasseer, Sreeman, Napolean, Ashish Vidyarthi and others is already creating waves across the trade. Everyone involved with the film is confident of it becoming a huge success.

Right from the cameraman, stunt director, music director Manisharma who is now handled with one of the biggest responsibilites of his life to appease the tastes of Vijay’s fans with his music, to the producer and director of the film, everyone is predicting the film to have a great run.

Recently one of the songs from the film was canned at the MGR film city. All the concerned artists took part in the song shoot also involving Ilayathalapathy Vijay. Prabudeva took care of shooting the whole song sequence and the song is said to be used in the same situation as the “Devu Devu Devu Devuda…” song from the original Pokiri, but with an altogether different tune from Manisharma.

All said, the whole unit is having a blast shooting for the film and the excitement levels of the fans are soaring high with each passing news about the film’s progress. After Aathi, it has been quite a long lasting wait for Vijay’s fans to see their idol on screen and many of them are dying to watch the film. Be assured, they are going to have a blast come January 14th when the stylish “Pokkiri” graces the screens on the festival day of Pongal! Its going to take a really good and highly hyped film to upstage Pokkiri in the Pongal competition and as of now, there seems to be no other film that can match the hype and expectations of Pokkiri!

Vasantha Mullai Pole…Pokkiri Song

No one can forgot the “Vasantha Mullai Pole Vanthu Asaithaadum” song from the movie “Saarangathaara”. Two sentence of the song lyric including in one of Pokkiri song. The who directing the movie, giving chance to direct songs of the movie to other dance masters. The “Vasantha Mullai” song in Pokkiri being shoot at Film City, Race Course by dance master Thinesh. Asin, and Sreeman danced along wit Vijay. Vijay told this song tuned by Manisharma is not remix of the old song.

Rahman keen to make Vijay’s ATM a musical hit

The combination of Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and A R Rahaman is not heard very often. The last time they came together was for Udaya where Vijay was paired with Simran. Though the film did not do well, the music also was not much talked about. It was surely a damp squib for Vijay’s fans.

Now this duo is coming together for Vijay’s next film (after Pokkiri) Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. According to sources close to these people, Rahaman has vowed to make this film a musical hit thereby trying to make amends for Udaya.
 
He is said to be seriously working on it. This film is expected to have soul stirring music from him. Fans are waiting anxiously for this musical feast.

Will Vijay’s grace save A M Rathnam?

 

Financial crises are not quite unheard of in the industry, particularly among the producers who are at the receiving end when a movie fails to generate expected revenues at the box office. 
 
 Talking about crisis, A M Rathnam seems to be experiencing a difficult phase owing to financial difficulties with the back-to-back failures of his movies.

A couple of his Telugu movies fall flat at the box office recently. Adding fuel to the fire, Tamil movies proved no less with Dharmapuri miserably failing and though the movie was fairly good, KD did not generate enough money either. Owing to this, his Bheema is abandoned half way through for lack of funds.
 
Under these circumstances, Rathnam seems to have recently caught up with Vijay and addressed all the financial crises that haunt him. It is reported that he had sought Vijay’s call sheet to rescue himself from the current situation. Though Vijay did not answer immediately, neither did he turn down the request. Does that mean that he is contemplating?

Vadivelu’s comedy — a highlight of Pokiri

 

Vadivelu is among the most popular personalities with the young group in the State. But the ace comedian is afraid that the modern generation is under lot of stress and strain and hence is unable to focus on finer things in life. He feels comedy can give them a good footing in life.

It is this abiding idea that is behind his comedy in Vijay starrer Pokiri. Pokiri is among the big films for release this Pongal day. With Vijay and Asin in the leads, it is already a blockbuster in the making. Now Vadivelu’s comedy is expected to provide an icing on the cake. ‘It will be targeted at the youth. It will be a humor that will appeal to them,’ Vadivelu says. 

Meanwhile, Vadivelu who is a hero in his own right after Imsai Arasan has not exactly taken a call on whether to act as a hero again.  Though there is mounting pressure and too many offers, Vadivelu haven’t made up his mind.  It will be a momentous decision, and cannot be an easy joke — even for a comedian, that is.

Rising Popularity of Vijay’s Fans – A Close Look

 

In this age of the growing popularity, the Internet has occupied a very important place in the lives of many people all around the world. The internet is seen as the connection between people in various parts of the world.

Our Ilayathalapathy Vijay has been fast catching up on the Internet as his fan base has been taking rapid strides in the past 3 years or so. The first major fanclub for Vijay, was started in 2003 by our Yahoo! Club members in May 2003. Before that, there were many small fanclubs for Vijay but the first major one was started in 2003. Eventually, the flood gates opened and various fanclubs for Vijay were opened in Yahoo, MSN and other communities.

The Yahoo! Fanclub (also our Official Yahoo! Fanclub) for Vijay celebrates a major milestone today as they have reached a staggering amount of 4000 members. Compared to other fanclubs for Tamil celebrities, this might be a small amount, but considering that this ‘online fanclubs’ boom for Vijay has started only in the past 3 years, this milestone assumes significiant importance. We, at Vijay Fans Network, congragulate the Yahoo! Fanclub for attaining a major milestone and wish their growth in the upcoming years.

One of the major highlights of the fanclub is the extremely lively activity in their discussions about Vijay. The fanclub gets a record number of 1000+ messages each month for the past consecutive 13 months. This is a very important achievement too since not every message posted to the group appears. The moderators take the effort to approve each and every message to ensure that the messages are  not against Vijay or that are not related to Vijay, etc.

Co-incidentally, the largest Orkut Community for Vijay (also, our Official Orkut community) has also touched a milestone of 8000 members. We congragulate them also for their achievement and wish him ever lasting success in future. The Orkut community has such a strong fan base even though the messages of the community can be read by anyone. Also the member strength of the Orkut community is very difficult to trigger because you just cannot get a free Orkut account easily. You must have a connecting Gmail account and to get a Gmail account, a current Gmail account user must invite you to Gmail. So its a very significiant achievement for the Orkut community to reach 8000+ members.

Many other communities and fanclubs for Vijay exist on the internet and are waiting to take their wings and fly rapidly. We wish all those fanclubs and hope that they spread the popularity of Vijay to all parts of the world through one of the most powerful media all over the world, the Internet!
