Translation of Kungumam Article

Vijay celebrate this year Deepavali with orphanage kids. The location chosen for this celebration is Sivanandha Gurukulam which located in Kaatthanguthoor. SunTv and Kungkumam representative reporter Aajar involved in this planned programme. Over to the spot!

“Today a VIP is coimng t osee you all. He is a Ghilli. Last year he celebrate Deepavali in Sivakasi. Who is he?” SunTv comperer Supriya asked the kids. They shouted “Vijayyyy”.

They all are poor orphan kids who lost their parents. With lots of excitement, they all waiting eagerly for him, suddenly a black car arrived outside the hall. Vijay comeout opening the car’s door.

They all are excited so as the emplyees of the Gurukulam. Vijay sit in front of the after saying a big “Hi” to all of them.

The kids started to “fire” questions at him….

“Which is your favourite subject in your school days?”
Vijay: “Mmm.. The is subject called Geography right, thats my fav subject.”

“Whats your fav sports?”
Vijay: “Tennis”

“Whats important to succeed in life?”
Vijay: “Hardwork”

Vijay answered all questions asked by the kids with patiently.       

When Vijay asked “Can we take a walk around the Gurukulam?”, the arrangement to for that happened quickly. Vijay happily take a walk around the gurukulam. He tauched the limbs of the trees which surrounding the gurukulam (Vijay, do you like trees alot?)

When the kids stands in rows, Mysoorpak sweetboxes handovered to Vijay. Vijay feeds all sweet into all kids’ mouth one-by-one. Everyone face shows happiness.     

One kid asked to Vijay “we all asked questions to you, why dont you ask me something?” With sweet shock Vijay replies, “what I want to ask….?” “What are you studying? Are you happy in here?, Vijay showered four five questions to him. Vijay asked while laughing at the boy ” Enough?”

When another boy wanted to ask Vijay something, he put sweets into the boys mouth. When we asked him what he wanted ask? He asked ” Your are appa chellam or amma chellam?” ( Vijay too has become daddy, they still asking this questions)

When someone asked “can we play crackers?”. Vijay along kids says “Ohhh” They happily playing fire-crackers.

When the owner of the gurukulam asked ” We not only have kids in this orphanage, we too have oldage people here, it would be nice if you visit and make them happy. Vijay walk towards them. At that time, SunTv cameraman moving along with his crene. Vijay joked at him saying ” I never come a cross, this kind of cameraman who trevelling in crane”.

The oldage people comes toward Vijay to see him. “My son has a good work, but i and him cannot go along, thats why I came here”…..”the movie you act along with Rambha and Devayani is very nice” they talked emotionally to him. Vijay’s face shows how happy he is to spend time with them.

“With the short time left, I too took chance to ask Vijay few questions.”
“Every year you give free notebooks to poor kids, is the any reason for that?”
Vijay: ” I’m doing it because of remembering my sister who past away.” 

“Do you have any Trust to do this helps?”
Vijay: “No, I dont. I’m just doing it”

“Did you plan all the helps that you going to do for the year”
Vijay: ” I didnt plan. My aim I just to help the orphanage kids. When suddenly I felt want to do, I’ll go there to give some help” 

” The faces and hearts of kids that your seeing today olny shows Vijay! Vijay!, how do feel when see them?
Vijay: “I olny can said it emotionally, I’m feeling happy, Very very happy…!!

For nearly a year Shreya has been totally committed to the Sivaji project. But a film with Rajini-Shankar combination brings in its wake several opportunities and new chances.

“Thousands had gathered to see Vijay….”

To the Editor,

I would like to write about my experience of meeting actor Vijay.

Vijay made a visit to Sri Lanka in the recent past. He was received with a VIP treatment by all Lankans at the air port. The next day he had a fans gathering at a famous theatre here and thousands of people were waiting to see him. While he started to chat with the people, most of the people rushed to the front to see him. So unfortunately police had to safeguard Vijay by taking him safely inside. Later I went personally to the hotel room in which Vijay stayed and clicked some pictures with him and his family. He was very friendly with all of us and basically was in his usual casual mood. We had dinner together. And it was a nice experience with him.

It’s vintage Vijay

The one good thing about actor Vijay is that he certainly likes to keep abreast with the films that are being released in Tamil. He is one of the regulars at the special shows.

Last night, the young star along with his wife Sangeetha saw a special show of Vattaram. He was said to be impressed with what he saw. Vijay also had a special screening of Dharmapuri a few days back. Director Perarasu arranged that show.

Perarasu, who says that he owes his career to Vijay, was happy with the response from the star. Vijay hugged the director after the film and congratulated him on giving a gritty masala entertainer. Perarasu had directed Vijay in commercial hits like Thirupachi and Sivakasi.

Vijay is currently working in Pokiri and will later take up Azhagiya Tamizhmagan.

Deepavali bonus

Shriya is having a sizzler of a Deepavali.

The Sivaji heroine has signed up to pair with Vijay in his next film, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan.

With Sivaji slated for release on Tamil New Year, and the Vijay starrer a summer special, the actor is on cloud nine.

Not only is she acting with the one-and-only superstar Rajnikant and the anointed superstar Vijay, she is also getting offers for Telugu films.

Little wonder that Shriya is busy shopping for diyas to light up this special Deepavali, which she will be spending in Delhi.

The actor says she is against crackers and polluting the environment (one only hopes there are no crackers named after her!).

Vijay may rejoins with Dharani after Azhagiya Tamil Magan

 

Rocking times are here to stay for Vijay! According to confirmed reports from the officials, AVM Productions have accquired the callsheets of Vijay after he completes Azhagiya Tamil Magan.

Also news emanating from the officials says that, Dharani could be directing Vijay in that movie which will follow Azhagiya Tamil Magan. AVM who are doing Shivaji right now have been confirmed to have got the callsheets of Vijay. But whether its really going to be Dharani or not, remains the big question!

Vijay dons new get-up!

 

Mention the word get-up, and it was always considered obscene by Vijay. But for the first time in his career, he has actually considered one!

Like his guru Rajini, Vijay believes in appearing as his usual self in films and cruising to victory. Till now, Vijay has maintained that a get-up will not suit him, but he seems to have changed his tune of late. He now says if the character will look good in it, he’s willing to give it a try.

Why this sudden change? During ‘Pokkiri’ he got himself a screen test. With a big twirling moustache, side burns covering half his face and flat, gelled hairstyle, Vijay was taken aback at his own reflection. He could hardly recognize himself. Only then was he convinced that it’s not a bad thing to change appearances once in a way.
So, Vijay’s fans could expect to see their idol in some new get-up sometime!

Vijay on a mission to construct a hospital Oct 17, 2006

 

Changes are the only unchanging element in life and it is more personified in the cine industry. Life here could really be a roller coaster ride for people who are casual. There is a lot of precedence in this industry where people have been decimated to a pitiable state mainly due to their extravagant attitude towards finances.
 
Of course, the present younger breed is much knowledgeable and have their feet firmly grounded. One such example is Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay who is very cautious when it comes to matters of money.

He has constructed marriage halls, which are being rented out at affordable rates to his fans and people belonging to the weaker sections of society. His next venture is to construct a hospital, which would be completely equipped with the latest aids to combat all kinds of medical emergencies. The plan has already been finalized with all the current technological innovations in place.
 
His father SA Chandrashekar is scouting for a good place to launch this latest mission. Discussions are already underway with eminent people in the industry. Vijay already has a senior in this field in the form of director Bharathiraja who runs a hospital in his name in Chennai.

Translation of Vijay’s Interview on Kungumam

Puthusaa Varuvaan Pokkiri…

Vijay’s face shows the happiness of Pokkiri shooting which finished 60 percent. We have ask ” is Vijay at home?” to Vijay himself. Because he looks very slim and trim.

Whenever he opens his mouth, he always praises Prabhu Deva.

VIJAY Speaks…..

Telugu Pokiri is already ran in TamilNadu. Lots of people knew the story and monvie. But, Tamil POKKIRI will not be the same with telugu version.  The reason for that is Prabhu Deva. He took only the core subject, and he come out new idea for scenes. It really amazing.
He thinks even deaper and take new scenes. I really amazed wiht his involvement. We shoot one song in AVM studio, the set was like “Kappal” (Ship r aeroplane). It was like we dancing inside the “kappal”. Mumbai Model Mumaitkhan danced with me.
” Enn sella peru Apple – Ennai saisaa kadichikoo”
” Enn sonntha ooru Ooty – Ennai sweater-raa podhukoo”…. was the song.

Even though the dance Master was Srithar, Prabhu Deva improved all the steps and danced to me. When I saw him dancing, my breath saw like stopped. He asked me to dance like that. Even though I can dance well, I feel afraid to dance infornt of him. I tell him ” You go that side, i’ll dance,” Then I danced. That “perfection’ is reason which raised him from dance master to director.

The are six songs in the movie, but only four have been recorded. The way Prabhu Deva asking for tunes from Manisharma also look different.

Usually, we’ll ask tunes after explaining the situation. Then we’ll improve the visual from the tunes. But, Prabhu Deva tells all the visual scences that going to be in the song to Manisharma at first ask then asking for tunes. With that we get lots of tunes. With that method he gets all four tunes from the music director.

The same goes to fight scenes. We shoot one fight scene in Golkonda Forts. There was a building behind the fort. Dancing ladies used to dance there during the kings ages.  Fight master Vijayan took the fight scene there, it was mass fight scene. We took the fight for  days.

Asin along with me. We like some heroines. Fans likes when I acted with some heroines. You’ll findout which category Asin is, when the movie come out.

There artists who suits the serious and laughther characters like Prakash Raj Vadivelu. Cameraman Nirov Sha done his work perfectly by understanding what Prabhu Deva feels and think. With this mutual understanding, film is nearing finishing stage.

This movie will be totally different from my movies. Prabhu Deva very eager to show me “newly”. Not only me, even Asin will look “new”.

Exclusive News from Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi 100th day function

 

The function was held in a grand manner at Kalaivannar Arangam, Chennai. The function was attended by many top personalities from the cinema world, specially Superstar Rajinikanth, Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Director Shankar, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Vadivelu who was the hero of this show, Vivek, Nasseer, Simbudevan and many others.

The show started off on time at 7pm with a Thamizh Thai Vazhthu and lyricist Pulamai Piththan started off the show by giving a welcome speech thereby welcoming all who were present at the show.

Some excerpts of what people said of the function and specially about Vijay…………

Lyricist Pulamai Piththan: When SAC sir used to direct films, I used to write the lyrics for most of his films. When Vijay started acting in films, I was the one slated to write the lyrics for a film. I heard that the title of film would be Naalaya Theerpu. Today when I see Vijay, I proudly say that the title of that film aptly resembles the verdict of the people on Vijay.

Sathyaraj said: If Vijay does a movie like Ghilli, Sivakaasi, Thirupachi, etc, they will do very well at the box office. But all are asking me to do such type of movies. Only those who are fit for such good movies like Vijay should do them.

Prabhu said: I wish Vijay in advance for the big success of his upcoming film ‘Pokkiri’

Vadivelu said: I sincerely thank Vijay for coming up to this function and appreciating me for my performance in this movie. After watching the film for about 5 times and even more, Vijay called me up over the phone and congragulated me wholeheartedly

Simbudevan said: I thank Vijay for making his presence felt in this function.

Shankar said: I welcome Ilayathalapathy Vijay and thank him for attending this function.

Superstar Rajinikanth said: Shankar’s production, Simbudevan’s direction and Vadivelu’s acting are the three plus points of this successful movie. As Vijay said, Vadivelu always does something new when he comes to the shoots. During the shooting of Chandramukhi, he will always come up with improvisation for his scenes on the spot. His enthusiasm, his comedy and his bubbliness are all very pleasing to see.

ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY said: I congragulate everyone involved with this film for making it a great success. I have seen this movie Imsai Arasan and I really liked the movie very much. To say about Vadivelu, he will never remain quite anywhere. Only when he comes to the spot, he will know his scenes, but he always comes up with lot of improvisation for his scenes and would add new ideas to it. After seeing Bagavathy and Sachein, a lot of people pointed out to me that my combination with Vadivelu was very good.

During the making of Friends, there was a scene where Ramesh Kanna drops a hammer (suthiyal) on Vadivelu’s head when Vadivelu was standing near the staircase. Everytime, Ramesh Kanna dropped the hammer on Vadivelu’s head, I couldnt control my laughter and that spoiled the shooting of that scene and we had to go for a lot of retakes of that scene. Finally, I was asked to turn back and not see the scene being shooted so that they could shoot the scene successfully. This, Vijay said to great applause from the assembled crowd.

One great thing about Shankar Sir is that  he selects scripts that no one else would think of selecting, and he would come up with a great movie from such scripts.
